"Havana" was my first Hunter read. Since then, all of Earl and Bob Lee books.

I recently read "The day before midnight" and Stephen left an unexplained puzzle or easter egg. Even Peter didn't explain it.

In "The day before midnight", when Peter and Walls were entering the deactivation sequence, what is the meaning of the taped on message "AN. DHEE. EER. ESM. IRV."

Duwayne- it's another Swagger book. I saw an interview with Hunter where he talked about it. Apparently, it takes place in the middle east if I remember correctly. But, don't worry, Swagger won't be riding into the sunset for good anytime soon.

How in the world can Steve Hunter casually mention an upcoming book and make no reference to either the story line or the characters?? Are we looking at the next Swagger book or a new character?!?

Dear Mr. Hunter:
I've been an avid reader of the Swagger books, and I've enjoyed them all. I do believe that your books have been on a downward quality course since the first two, though the others were still enjoyable. I must say that I Sniper has put you back on course, at least as good as the first Swagger book. I found it difficult to put down, and continued to read until early mornings. Congratulation, and keep them coming. Bill Weiss

I loved ISniper, and Stephen has yet to disappoint me with any of his Swagger novels. Hoping now that he's not at the WP fulltime, he can devote more to his writing. Love to see something in the vein of Dirty White Boys.

His explanation of the “Narrative” in I, Sniper is the most thoughtful and comprehensive I have ever seen. It is clear that there is a very good mind at work here. I am curious to know how he came to this understanding and the source of his insights.

All throughout the book I keep visualizing Eastwood, too, ala Gran Tourino. But has anyone considered R. Lee Ermey? He ain't no spring chicken and he's got the jarhead authenticity already built in...

I think Clint is a bit old for Bob Lee in I, Sniper. I'd go for Tommy Lee Jones this time.

Nice job Hunter! I think that is one spot higher than The 47th Samurai hit on the list, if I'm recalling correctly. I, Sniper has got to be one of Hunter's best books. Right up there with Point of Impact and Pales Horse Coming, Time to Hunt, Hot Springs, etc. Such a great book. I just finished and cannot wait for Dead Zero. Hunter is back!
